Africa/Asia Project

I learned that I can accomplish things when I actually put in the effort and care about what I am working on. I also found that I can be creative when I really think of something. Things like “Farmer Branson” were little things that I put in to make it a tiny bit more humorous. Even though they weren’t that good at all, but hey, it’s the little things that count (sometimes)! The most challenging part of the project was finding time to film together. We all had such different schedules and therefore took some workarounds to end up filming what we needed.

Settlement: What was needed?

The most interesting thing that I learned about the influence of climate, physical features, and natural resources on settlement, was that major population centers were founded near featured that affected life in a positive way, like lakes. Also that they were founded away from things, like mountains, that would impede progress in trade.
The part of the sketchnote that I am most proud about is that in the top left area, I fit a lot of material in there. I put in there that you need, fertile soil to grow crops, flat grassy areas that will be suitable for grazing, and a water source nearby, which is connecting two towns in my sketchnote.

Globalization, what is it about?

The most interesting thing that I learned about globalization is that it increases the infrastructure of a country, by allowing it to open up new trade routes.
The most interesting thing that I learned about trade is that it increases the variety of goods that can be produced by getting materials that are not naturally in this country.
I am most proud of the part of the sketchnote that shows a rough map of Australia.

This part has multiple Walmarts in different countries, or regions of Australia to show a multinational corporation, and money being handed across to represent corporations buying goods from other corporations.

Economy In Your Life

Production can be seen everyday by watching the “How it’s Made” TV show. Distribution can be seen everyday by going to any supermarket or store. Consumption can be seen everyday by going to school because consumption can also mean "to use." For example, we can use the school’s power, and classrooms. Goods are everything around you that you can touch and are objects that you can purchase in a store. Services are jobs that can provide for you, like electricians, teachers, etc.

Why We Should Be Bothered

It is important that you be bothered because, when you are bothered great things can be accomplished. For example, no one thought that we could get a man on the moon, but some brilliant thinkers made this happen by being bothered. Also, when you don’t choose to be bothered then things will stay just the way they are and we don't want this so that we can improve our usage of natural supplies, greenhouse gasses, etc.
